Luigi Sicoli

A hotel general manager with over ten years experience ranging from the construction of two boutique hotels, two hotel opening, two major renovations and expansions while leading the financial and operational functions of a luxury hotel.

The food and beverage is not only a career it is part of my culture. Hospitality has been part of my childhood experience. Fortunate to be born in a large family and a culture that embraces guests, there was no other way to express the passion for people like providing an experience of food and service.

Tony Zacconi

Tony Zacconi, owner of Sala San Marco Banquet & Conference Centre has spent nearly 25 years in the food service industry. Beginning as a busboy working for his parents Joe & Gina Zacconi who built and opened Sala San Marco in 1987, he worked his way up the front-of-the-house. Tony worked as a waiter, captain, and maitre’d, developing a breadth of knowledge in classic table service, wines, cognacs, and sales.

In 2001 Tony set out on his own and opened La Vecchia Trattoria on Preston St. He built the business from the ground up on the principles of serving traditional Italian cuisine using the best available ingredients in a friendly neighbourhood atmosphere. It was a winning combination, making it one of Ottawa’s favourite Italian restaurants.

In February of 2009 Tony purchased Sala San Marco from his parents Gina & Joe Zacconi. He has continued to build on Sala San Marco’s reputation for providing the highest standard of food and service while continuing to update the brand as a whole.

Tony has built an amazing core team of talented individuals who have helped make Sala Gatineau a leader in the industry.
